The GAPP waterproofing course is a hands-on course designed to teach both experienced and non-experienced individuals the necessary skills to excel in the waterproofing industry. Available Australia wide, you will learn from industry experts who have 20+ years of waterproofing experience. Our flexible learning model includes both online and in person training to make sure you get a thorough understanding of all relevant waterproofing course topics. Participants in this waterproofing course will first learn the principles of waterproofing, including how to identify and prevent dampness and water damage in both residential and commercial structures. Additionally, you will gain insights into the correct preparation of surfaces, ensuring that substrates are properly treated to optimize waterproofing outcomes and longevity.
Participants will explore the current Australian waterproofing standards, learning about the regulations and compliance requirements for both internal and external wet areas. In the hands-on component of this waterproofing course, the participant will be able to delve into advanced Gripset waterproofing systems, learning and using a range of products involved in the application of sheet and liquid membranes. By the end of this waterproofing course, you will have both the theoretical and practical knowledge to confidently apply advanced waterproofing systems with a high level of expertise.
In this waterproofing course, you will thoroughly explore residential waterproofing applications, with detailed instructions on navigating both internal and external wet areas. Being able to apply these skills is important, so our experts will break down each section into easy to digest learnable outcomes that will become actionable throughout your practical component. For internal wet areas, you will delve into common waterproofed areas like showers, bathrooms, laundries and wet rooms, ensuring you are equipped to understand and handle common water exposure risks. In our external wet area breakdown, you will learn about balconies and decks, focusing on how to safeguard these high-exposure areas from water damage.
In addition to these applications, the course will offer a detailed look into substrates and surface finishes in waterproofing projects, from preparation to finish. As a breakdown of this component, you will learn about repairs and remedial work for damaged or compromised areas, as well as the necessary products to use for the repair of areas not waterproofed correctly. Learn how to apply products to the required Gripset specifications, and the correct waterproofing systems that will protect your residential and commercial applications. At the end of this waterproofing course you will become a fully certified GAPP applicator receiving a GAPP waterproofing certificate and extra exclusive benefits.
The Gapp waterproofing course is split into online and in-person classes. You will learn from our experts in an online class that takes place over 2 afternoons. Each online class lasts 3 hours and covers the essential theoretical knowledge needed for proficient waterproofing. If you are unable to attend these live online sessions, we can provide you with recorded content of the waterproofing course to watch at your own pace before you attend your practical date.
Our hands-on component takes place throughout the year across different states in Australia where our team come to you. This part of the waterproofing course allows you to start implementing our advanced Gripset specifications and systems to Australian waterproofing standards. The face-to-face sessions provide a supportive environment, taking place in small groups where you can ask questions and come out confident that you have absorbed the knowledge necessary to tackle real-world waterproofing projects.
